Gaurain-Ramcroix, Hainaut, Belgique, 2005-2006

Edition Husson, 2008

I believe that each of us holds within them a memory or an image of majorettes. For me, it's primarily an image linked to my childhood, in Gaurain-Ramecroix. The Laurette majorette troupe would pass by the house every year, at the same time. They are part of the landscape, my local landscape, almost part of my intimate heritage. For two years, I mingled with these people whom I saw, whom I believed I knew, through their Saturday afternoon rehearsals in the village's old gym, or during their outings in Belgium and the north of France. Beyond the costume, the majorettes remain young local teens with their family stories, generations of majorettes or musicians.
